Stuart B. Thompson is a stand-up comedian, actor, voiceover actor, writer, and host. He has been featured in the New York Times. His debut album “Dandy Man” debuted in the top ten on Apple Music and can be heard on all streaming platforms, including Sirius XM. He has been seen on Robert Rodriguez’s “Matador” on the El Rey Network and a Toyota commercial, in which he spoke both English and Spanish. His voice can also be heard in the Spanish dub of the Nick Jr. show HobbyKids Adventures. He has written for the National Lampoon and the CBS Diversity Showcase. He has performed in 9 countries & all the major comedy clubs nationwide. On his late night talk show - The L8 Night Show with Stuart & Luke - at the Hollywood Improv, Stuart shared the stage with many comedians including Nikki Glaser, Joe Rogan, Quinta Brunson, Jerrod Carmichael, and Adam Devine. He has opened for dozens of comedians, including Russell Peters, Ali Wong, Dana Gould, Steve Treviño, and Iliza Shlesinger. Most recently, he recorded his debut comedy special Conditional Love, which will be available on Valentine’s Day, 2024.

Stuart’s love for comedy began at the age of 12 when he saw George Carlin on TV and was mesmerized by Carlin’s ability to captivate a crowd with only his thoughts and words. A few years later, Stuart began watching Late Night with Conan O’Brien and Saturday Night Live religiously, longing for an opportunity to perform comedy in front of an audience but believing it wasn’t something he had access to do. It wasn’t until Stuart was 18 and a student at UC Berkeley that he went to his first open mic at the Brainwash Cafe in San Francisco that the dream of being a comedian began to become a reality. Within a year, Stuart was performing on shows all over the Bay Area. On his first paid show, he got to meet Robin Williams and Mort Sahl and realized that a career in comedy was possible. He has been entertaining audiences ever since then.

Currently, Stuart can be seen performing all over Los Angeles and the U.S. as he builds his new hour of stand-up.

Terrell Butler is originally from Oakland California. Affectionally referred to by his nickname Big-T, he has always been the comedian of his social circle. Taking the stage for the first time in 2007 as a stand up comic, he hit the ground running.  He has quickly earned respect at the premier comedy clubs across Northern and Southern California as a feature performer. Terrell is the Winner of the 2016 Rooster T. Feathers Comedy Competition, in Sunnyvale CA. As a stand up comedian, Big-T draws his comedy from life experience.  Ranging from The colorful characters in his family, his life as an Oakland youth, and his years as a bouncer in Bay Area nightclubs & gentlemens clubs. Terrell is a graduate of Academy Of Art University, with a degree in Communication and Media Technology. He has hosted several Live Stream TV Shows, Produced two radio shows “The Bridge” & “The Rise N’ Grind Show”. He also worked as the Program Director for Urban Knight Radio at AAU. Yearning to take advantage of everything AAU has to offer, Terrell quickly re-enrolled at the Academy to pursue his Fine Arts degree in Writing for Film and Television. His goal of making a major impact was realized when his first short film was produced and nominated for several awards at AAU. There is no doubt that Terrell can excel in whatever field he sets his mind to. Wether it’s live comedy, writing, or acting, Terrell is destined to make an impact in the Entertainment Industry.

Tom Rhodes is a world traveling comedian who is now celebrating his 34th year as a stand up comedian. Ramon Mirabet is an eclectic performer whose captivating songs offer a memorable, intimate, and emotional musical journey. Ramon is no stranger to touring the world and sharing his music with audiences globally. Hailing from Sitges, Spain, Ramon has a unique connection with The Riekes Center; since 2016, Ramon has mentored, bonded, and performed with countless Riekes Center music students as part of the organization's annual program that offers students opportunities to grow as musicians and leaders in a touring band in Spain. The relationship will be on display on the beautiful Guild Theatre stage, with The Riekestra providing hits of classic rock and soul, followed by Ramon and his lively, awe-inspiring ensemble. This concert illustrates

The Riekes Center's extensive music program, the achievements of its students, and The Riekes Center's long-time relationship with standout singer and songwriter Ramon Mirabet from Spain. Since 2015, The Riekes Center has offered a unique leadership opportunity to its teenage students that engages them in the preparation and execution of an international music performance in Barcelona, Spain. Students bond together as a band, learn and rehearse an abundance of popular rock, soul, and pop songs, and travel to and live together in the Costa Brava region of Spain, playing shows nightly while experiencing the country's culture and lifestyle and stepping into their independence as young leaders. Ramon Mirabet has been a central mentoring figure to students over the many years of the program, joining them on stage in performance, encouraging their work ethic, teaching about Spanish traditions and values of music, and contributing to the feeling of community to the group each year. Ramon and his band played a similar event with The Riekestra in 2019 and invited The Riekestra students to join him on stage then, to further magnify the valuable bond. Tonight will continue to further and magnify this beautiful human connection through music and love shared by The Riekes Center's students, its community, and Ramon Mirabet.

Based in the musical hotbed of Marin County, California, Grahame Lesh is a guitar player and singer-songwriter for Midnight North, Phil Lesh & Friends, & the Terrapin Family Band. A mainstay in the scene that flowered from Terrapin Crossroads in San Rafael, Grahame has joined such luminaries as The Mother Hips, Twiddle, Amy Helm, The North Mississippi All Stars, Neal Casal, Jackie Greene, Eric Krasno, ALO, and many more in singing, playing, and interpreting the American songbook.

As a founder and co-frontperson (with Elliott Peck) for Midnight North, Grahame has played hundreds of concerts around the country and released 5 studio albums, 3 live albums, and two digital EPs of original music since the band's inception in 2012. In the Fall of 2023 the band released their 5th studio album "Diamonds in the Zodiac", which was produced by Amy Helm and features contributions from Phil Lesh and many other luminaries. The title "Diamonds in the Zodiac" comes from the unearthed Robert Hunter lyrics for “Jupiter,” the epic centerpiece of the album that Grahame wrote the music for.

Grahame Lesh & Friends, or "GLAF", has grown naturally into another outlet for interpreting the music he has been surrounded by. GLAF takes immense pleasure in reviving forgotten and unfinished Grateful Dead songs, working out alternate versions of Grahame's Midnight North compositions, fleshing out songs written by Grahame's brother Brian, and finding the fun covers that tie them all together.

As a member of Phil Lesh's Terrapin Family Band and Phil Lesh & Friends, he has traveled the world, performing Phil's updated version of the Grateful Dead's sound everywhere from the famed Fuji Rock Festival in Japan to London to Newport Folk Fest to New York city. Phil Lesh & Friends and the TFB have welcomed guests like Sheryl Crow, Benmont Tench, John Scofield, Rick Mitarotonda, Nicki Bluhm, Dawes, Warren Haynes, Eric Krasno, Bob Weir, and many more onstage as they performed at venues and festivals around the world.

Always focused on the song and the groove, whether it be his or another's, Grahame's music stays rooted in the present while touching on all aspects of rock, folk, blues, soul, and more.

Aoife O’Donovan and Hawktail join together for a night of joyous music. Hawktail opens the evening with their signature songs and cosmopolitan sound. Aoife O’Donovan will then take the stage with Hawktail as her band, performing songs from the Grammy-award winning musician’s 4th studio album All My Friends (out March 22, 2024).

O’Donovan continues to enchant audiences worldwide with her soul-stirring music and unwavering passion for storytelling through song. Deemed “a vocalist of unerring instinct” by the New York Times, she has released three critically-acclaimed and boundary-blurring solo albums including literarily crafted Age Of Apathy, which received three Grammy nominations.

Her newest album, All My Friends is based around a collection of songs Aoife O’Donovan wrote, inspired by women’s suffrage and the passage of the 19th amendment. The album is a deep dive into the reimagining of the life of Carrie Chapman Catt - one of the movement’s leaders and founder of the League of Women Voters - juxtaposed with Aoife’s own experiences as a woman and mother.

Hawktail is the acoustic instrumental trio of fiddler Brittany Haas, bassist Paul Kowert, and guitarist Jordan Tice. Though at first glance it looks like an acoustic super-picker side-project, their all-original music is cohesive and unique, distinguishing them as an ensemble with a sound built from the ground up. Flush with orchestral sweeps and sparse vigils, with strains of the American South and the North Atlantic. Together, they have fostered a reputation as a rare ensemble of composers and instrumentalists able to take the listener on a journey, without the use of words.

Sometimes revolutions begin quietly.

In 1988, Cowboy Junkies proved that there was an audience waiting for something quiet, beautiful and reflective. The Trinity Session was like a whisper that cut through the noise -- and it was compelling. It stood out in the midst of the flash and bombast that came to define the late 80's. The now classic recording combined folk, blues and rock in a way that had never been heard before and went on to sell more than a million copies.

Formed in Toronto in 1985 with siblings Michael Timmins on guitar, Margo Timmins on vocals, Peter Timmins on drums, and Michael’s lifelong friend Alan Anton on bass, the band has sparkled over the course of 29 albums. “I’ve known Alan longer than I’ve known Pete,” says Michael. “We were friends before Pete was born.”

Unlike most long-lasting groups, Cowboy Junkies have never had a break up or taken a sanity-saving hiatus. There’s an appreciation of each other that keeps them constantly working. “It’s that intimacy and understanding of what each one of us brings to the table,” says Michael. Cowboy Junkies’ will be performing a career-spanning show, including their new album, ‘Such Ferocious Beauty’, which was released worldwide on June 2, 2023 to universal critical acclaim.

As well-known for their bizarrely teased haircuts as their hit single "I Ran (So Far Away)," A Flock of Seagulls were one of the infamous one-hit wonders of the new wave era. Growing out of the synth-heavy and ruthlessly stylish new romantic movement, A Flock of Seagulls were a little too robotic and arrived a little too late to be true new romantics, but their sleek dance-pop was forever indebted to the short-lived movement. The group benefitted considerably from MTV's heavy rotation of the "I Ran" video in the summer of 1982.

Hairdresser Mike Score (lead vocals, keyboards) formed A Flock of Seagulls with his brother Ali (drums) and fellow hairdresser Frank Maudsley (bass) in 1980, adding guitarist Paul Reynolds several months later. The group released its debut EP on Cocteau Records early in 1981, and while the record failed to chart, its lead track, "Telecommunication," became an underground hit in Euro-disco and new wave clubs. The band signed a major-label contract with Jive by the end of the year, and their eponymous debut album appeared in the spring of 1982. "I Ran (So Far Away)" was released as the first single from the album, and MTV quickly picked up on its icily attractive video, which featured long shots of Mike Score and his distinctive, cascading hair. The single climbed into the American Top Ten, taking the album along with it. In the U.K., "I Ran" didn't make the Top 40, but "Wishing (If I Had a Photograph of You)" reached number ten later that year; in America, that single became a Top 40 hit in 1983, after "Space Age Love Song" peaked at number 30. "Wishing" was taken from the group's second album, Listen (1983), which was moderately successful.

The band released 1984's The Story of a Young Heart failed to produce any hit singles but Reynolds left after the album and was replaced by Gary Steadnin; the band also added keyboardist Chris Chryssaphis. The new lineup was showcased on 1986's Dream Come True. Shortly after its release, the band broke up. Mike Score assembled a new lineup of A Flock of Seagulls in 1989, releasing the single "Magic" and touring the U.S.A. The band continued to tour worldwide, although with major changes to its members, and in 1996 released a new album, The Light at the End of the World.
