  • Robert Strong & Friends: Comedy, Magic, and Mentalism – 1/29/2023

Kent Jenkins

Snubby J (Kent Jenkins) is a musician and entertainer known for his highly-energetic performances playing the RimbaTubes, a homemade pipe instrument built with his father. What started as a hobby making YouTube videos in 2007, has since garnered Snubby J over 3 million followers across all platforms, and numerous television appearances around the world (The Ellen Show, MTV’s Amazingness, TEDxTalks online.) Originally from Lake Oswego, Oregon, Snubby J has traveled across the United States, Europe & Asia for shows, including collaborations with the world-renowned Blue Man Group – one of his inspirations.

Don Friesen

If you missed Don’s hilarious Showtime one-hour Special, “Ask Your Mom,” you’ve got to catch him live!  Engaging, clever, and just flat-out funny, Friesen ignites the stage with a playful, high-energy spoof of his life as a modern suburban dad, and (until recently) husband, who’s just trying to make sense out of the constantly-changing world around him.  Everyday life has never been funnier.

The Seattle Post-Intelligencer says “Friesen will leave a lasting comic impression,” and describes him as “offbeat, satirical, self-deprecating and slightly out of control.”  With an act that somehow manages to be both intimate and absurd, Don will draw you into his world where he skillfully blends characters, voices, physicality, and parodies to create some of the most memorable routines around.

Friesen’s credits include Showtime, Live at Gotham, and Comics Unleashed, and he is the only two-time winner in the 41-year history of the prestigious San Francisco International Comedy Competition.  He was also featured in TBS’ “The Comedy Festival” in Las Vegas and is a wildly popular on KLOS’ 5:00 Funnies, 100.3 The Sound’s Laughter at 45 After, and XM Sirius satellite radio.

Andrew Evans

Andrew Evans is an illusionist and magic designer who brings a modern, innovative twist to magic. He founded and built The Magic Patio—a magic speakeasy tucked in a corner of San Francisco—and was the Magic and Illusions Lead for the San Francisco production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. His unique magic creations have been featured at The Magic Castle in Hollywood and on national television for Penn & Teller’s: Fool Us… twice! Beyond the stage, Andrew worked as a Design Lead at the global innovation and design firm IDEO and was a lecturer in design leadership at Stanford University’s d.school.

Kevin Blake

As seen on America’s Got Talent, Penn & Teller: Fool Us, Thrillist and in his acclaimed sell-out show The Illusionist at the Palace Theater, Kevin Blake is a San Francisco-based, worldwide-performing magician, mentalist, and illusionist who blends genres of magic and sleight of hand with storytelling, music, and comedy to create unforgettable moments of wonder.

Robert Strong

Three times voted “Best Magician” and twice voted “Best Comedian” by the San Francisco Bay Guardian.

David Roth

David Roth is an award-winning author, advertising creative director, and music video producer based in Brooklyn, New York.

He has written two Super Bowl commercials and has freelanced for 30+ creative agencies and directly for clients like Netflix and Google. Outside of advertising, he is authoring a joke-writing book for kids with Chronicle Books (Spring 2023 release).
